  • The puppies are now 4 weeks old. They are getting big and are starting to play. I am introducing them to food of which they don't like as much as Mama milk . Ava is not staying with them as much and I noticed they have tiny little teeth coming through. So very soon they will HAVE to eat from a bowl. Here are a few pictures of my chubby little fur babies.

  • The puppies are now two weeks old and opened their eyes over the past two days. Pretty soon they will be getting around exploring their space. It is going to be hard to give them up to other families. I am working on my husband in keeping the little female. She is the smallest of the three and has a jet black coat.

Puppy #2 and #3 have a full white collar and the blaze (the white between the eyes) meets the white collar.
Puppy #1 has a little black space from the blaze to the collar.

All have show quality markings, from what I have read and researched.
Sire Rico is AKC registered. I don't have the AKC papers on Mom Ava yet..

    GOD IS SO GOOD

  • This past weekend we went camping at Georgia Veterans State Park. Glenn had a Royal Ranger work day at the campsite for Rondeaux (I know that is probably misspelled) near there. I had the whole Saturday to kill time before picking him back up, so, I drove over to the little town of Plains, GA. I knew of a very nice antique shop there. I had a nice time looking around and I found a nice coffee grinder. I don't know how old it is, but it does have dove tail joints.

After lunch in Plains at a little diner, I headed over to Americus, GA. I found an embroidery shop and I had a nice time visiting the ladies in the shop. She started out in her house and outgrew it. The shop was real nicely set up. I wonder if that is something I should do. She said she stays real busy and it was a good move for her.

On a resent trip to Charleston, I found two old bread dough bowls at an antique/collectables shop that was going out of business. These are great finds I thought for the money. I have seen some like these that were twice the price I paid for them. On the ends of the oblong bowl you can see the rings of the tree from which it was carved. I wonder what its history is. The round bowl is in pretty good shape and no cracks.

I also found the small wash board from the same antique/collectables store. The rolling pin with red handles, the flour sifter and the cookie/biscuit cutters are from an antique mall in Charleston.

The crock in the picture was from Glenn's mother, I think. He can't remember the history of it so maybe some of the family can add to it's story.

The red apron was one of my mothers. She made it when she was young and it has some stitching (cross stitch) on the small checks.

The buffet is old and very solid. I use to have some of my old oil lamps, silhouetts (I will share the slhouetts at another time) and other items in a small booth at an antique store. When the store closed, the owner's items were auctioned. I bid on the buffet and to my surprise won. I know it is old because of the duck joints.

Anyway, I love old things. Thanks for looking and letting me share.
